Invitation to Room Selection
You may be one of the almost 2,500 returning students invited to participate in the Room Selection process, in which case you’ll choose your roommate group and select your room assignment (see links below). The pool of students invited to participate in Room Selection will be generated first with Rising Sophomores, followed by Rising Juniors/Seniors (randomly selected) as space in the Room Selection pool allows.
Being invited to the Room Selection process does not guarantee you will receive a housing assignment. There will be available housing assignments for you, but you must ultimately select a space (see “Select Your Room Assignment” below) to secure a housing assignment.
Additionally, being invited to the Room Selection process does not guarantee that you will receive a housing assignment in your preferred location. Preferred locations may fill before you select a space, and you may need to choose a different location to secure a housing assignment.
If you are not invited to participate in the Room Selection process, you will be added to a waitlist (see the Priority and Post-Priority Waitlist tabs above). We will try to find you an assignment after Room Selection ends and throughout the summer. However, receiving a housing assignment is not guaranteed for students on the waitlist, and we encourage you to consider other housing options.
Invitations to the 2026–2027 Room Selection process will be sent to your URI email on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
