On-Campus

  • Volunteer at the URI Free Farmers’ Market in the Fall, complete the Volunteer Form here. You can harvest produce at our on campus farm or hand it out the next day at the Market! Farming is on Wednesdays, Market is on Thursdays during the Fall semester ONLY. Follow @urifreefarmersmarket for more details.
  • Join one of URI’s many clubs relating to nutrition and health sciences such as the Pre-PA Club, URI NEDA Chapter, Women in STEM, Public Health Club, Nutrition Club, or UReca!
  • Apply for positions working or volunteering with URI EMS, Pre-Health Ambassadors, Master Gardeners, Aphasia Book Club, or Cyber Seniors program.
  • Volunteer your time with Rhody Outpost, the on-campus food pantry.
  • Join Delta Epsilon Mu, a Pre-Health Professional Society.
  • Meet friends and gain new experiences by joining one of URI’s many fraternities or sororities.
  • Don’t be afraid to take courses outside of the Nutrition Department. Human Development and Family Studies, Kinesiology, Biological Sciences, Business, and Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems offer courses that may be related to your degree.
