The University of Rhode Island’s College of the Environment and Life Sciences is offering three online graduate certificates this fall in Natural Resources and the Environment, Fisheries, and GIS and Geospatial Technologies. Designed for career advancement, professional development, and enhancing real-world skills, each graduate certificate can be completed within two semesters. The asynchronous online format allows you to work full-time while completing your certificate, providing students with convenient and flexible learning. In addition, for students looking to advance their degree, any or all three certificates can apply to the University of Rhode Island’s Master of Environmental Science and Management (M.E.S.M.) program.

Your certificate counts toward your Master’s degree.
Our Online Graduate Certificates offered through the College of the Environment and Life Sciences are designed to be a gateway to URI’s Master of Environmental Science and Management (M.E.S.M.) program.
Depending upon the number of certificates completed prior to applying to the MESM program, your Master’s degree can be earned in as little as two semesters. This option may be particularly appealing to recent graduates, working professionals, international students and military personnel, who require the flexibility of online learning but also desire a direct pathway into the face-to-face M.E.S.M. program.
