Training Videos
In 2020, Covid forced us to move our training online, something that we had often discussed making available. While we think that being able to ask questions and interact in person is best, we know not everyone’s schedule permits that. So we still have classroom training available through the videos available here: https://web.uri.edu/watershedwatch/classroom-training-videos/
We plan to offer field training in April. But will keep our field training videos posted on Youtube and accessible by clicking on the titles below:
- Thursday April 14, 2022 recording (Passcode: 0D%!d.5W)

- The best way for training your eye to “read” the Secchi disk correctly is through the Maine Lakes Stewards Secchi Disk Simulation program available by clicking HERE!
- Here’s a link to our colleagues’ in New York state Secchi depth video. Please note that the CSLAP program does not use a view tube, which Watershed Watch does since it helps decrease glare. Please use the view tube! And measure water clarity from the SUNNY SIDE OF THE BOAT!
- Here’s a link to our Adopt-A-Stream colleagues’ video on: How to Sample for Dissolved Oxygen. This video is focused on wadeable stream samples and running duplicate tests. It has GREAT closeup images of the titrator, titrator vial and other parts of the DO procedure.
