B. Sample Preparation

  1. It is strongly recommended that users consult the instrument manual (Malvern website). Many samples are not suitable for DLS and for those that are, if not prepared properly, will yield erroneous results.
  2. Users are required to bring their own supplies to the lab. This includes cuvettes and zeta potential cells, pipetters and tips, and safety wear.

C. Training: New users must be trained by an experienced user before operating independently. It is the responsibility of the user to receive training.

D. Charge for facility usage: There is currently no charge for academic users.

E. Data Management: All results are stored in local hard drive. Users will be allowed to copy their files from the local PC. Data will not be stored indefinitely and it is the user’s responsibility to save their data in a timely manner.
