The URI Men’s Rugby Team competes year-round against other club programs belonging to the Liberty Conference. We compete against teams from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and throughout the Northeast.

- We keep anyone who wants to play
What gear is required?
- Proper Footwear

How often does your team practice?
- In the Spring Semester, we practice twice a week before Spring Break, and three times a week after Spring Break.
Where does your team practice/play/compete?
- Depending on the time of year, we practice at Meade Stadium or the URI Rugby Pitch. We host home games at the URI Rugby Pitch.
How far does your team travel for competitions?
- Our schedule varies year to year, but the farthest we have had to travel recently is to the University of Buffalo.
Who does your team compete against?
- We compete against teams in the Liberty D-1AA conference, including Boston College, Northeastern, Yale, Nazareth, Colgate, UConn, and Binghamton.
How do athletes get to games?
- We carpool using personal vehicles or rental vehicles to attend most games; however, we sometimes rent a coach bus when traveling greater distances.
Does your team collect dues? If so, how much?
- Yes. Our Fall dues are $350 per player. Our Spring dues are $150 per player.
Aside from practices and competitions, what other commitments are expected from members of the team?
- Outside of competitions, we host fundraising events and team-building activities. We are also active in RhodyThon.

- Prior experience is recommended.
How competitive is your team?
- Our team is very competitive, and we offer two competitive teams (A and B)
