International Computer Science Program

Year Abroad

As part of the International Computer Science Program, you get the chance to integrate study and professional experience in another culture. Studying abroad gives you the opportunity to appreciate another culture in depth, travel extensively, and learn how to work with people who may have a different perspective.

Students go abroad their fourth year of the program, spending a semester on a paid internship and the option of spending a second semester at a partner university studying computer science. Computer science students who are proficient in a second language are high demand anywhere in the automotive and IT sectors worldwide since automotive is moving towards autonomous driving and e-mobility. URI has been at the forefront of developing signature international programs for decades, so ICSP students have access to a global network of partner universities and host companies.
