Move-In Guide
Pre-Arrival
Before you leave for campus:
- Contact your Roommate. Roommates who connect with one another before coming to campus have more positive living experiences and build stronger relationships. You can also work out logistics such as who will bring larger items like the television, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
- Your room assignment and PIN will be posted in mid-July to your MyHousing account. Please store your PIN in a secure, easily accessible location.
- Print your Move-In Window Tag (available in MyHousing) and write your room number and driver cell phone on it. Window Tags are required for all residents during Fall Move-in and allow our traffic guides to direct you while you are on campus.
- Recycle packaging and cardboard at home, before you arrive on campus. This will save you trips to designated cardboard recycling areas. You can pack using items you are bringing to campus such as backpacks, duffel bags, suitcases, laundry bins and other storage containers. If you pack your belongings in labeled, sealable containers, you can easily transport your belongings and ensure that everything stays dry if it rains on your Move-In day. Sealable plastic containers that are 12″ high by 18″ wide by 36″ long will easily slide underneath a bed, while 18 gallon/72 quart containers fit in the bottom of your wardrobe or closet. Twin XL beds are adjustable in height and will be set at a height to allow for 30″ of storage underneath.
- Shipping items to campus: Students may have packages sent to Union Express beginning on August 19th. Your Union Express Unit Number/Mail Box number is posted in MyHousing.
