The University Libraries allocates its budget into separate fund accounts for each discipline to finance the purchase of books, serials, and other media. Departments are encouraged to participate in the selection of materials.
Subject Selectors
The Libraries’ subject selectors are responsible for selecting books and other materials to be purchased. Subject selectors also act as liaisons to the various departments on campus, and create Library Impact Statements for new course proposals.
Book Suggestion Form
Use the form below if you would like to suggest that the Libraries acquire a particular book, video, CD, etc. Your suggestion will be forwarded to the appropriate subject selector.
Library Impact Statement (LIS)
The Curriculum and Standards Committee and Graduate Council require a Library Impact Statement (LIS) when new courses, programs, majors or degrees are proposed.
Faculty proposing a new course complete the Course Request for a Library Impact Statement (LIS) Form and email it to the subject selector for that area. The subject selector creates the LIS and returns it to the faculty for inclusion in the curriculum proposal. Faculty proposing a new program, major or degree complete a Program Request for Library Impact Statement (LIS) Form and email it to the Collection Management Officer. The Collection Management Officer creates the LIS and returns it to the faculty for inclusion in the proposal.
