CLASS SPOTLIGHT– Soul in Motion

6 sessions, beginning Thursday, Oct 21, at 10AM Faculty: Irene Pica

This unique mind–body exercise class explores natural, expressive movement using elements of yoga, breathwork, meditation, and dance. Inspired by the rhythms of popular and world music, you’ll get an exhilarating workout and leave feeling energized and joyful! Participants can be  seated or standing, with or without support.

A SPECIAL INVITATION TO VETERANS FROM BETH LECONTE

As an active member of the Rotary Club of Wakefield I am pleased to extend an invitation to our OLLI veterans to join me at our Rotary Breakfast on Thursday morning, November 11.  We gather at Camden’s Restaurant,  756  Kingstown Rd in Wakefield at 7:15am.  Enjoy a brief presentation and conversation with other Veterans and business professionals. THE OWN YOUR HEALTH COLLABORATIVE is looking for individuals interested in becoming certified leaders of the Tools for Healthy Living Program. Individuals would attend a free leader training and then utilize what they learned to host community-based Tools for Healthy Living workshops under the supervision of the Own Your Health Collaborative.  Click here to view the flyer. The workshop covers topics on communication, physical activity, nutrition, medication management, fatigue and more. The leaders follow scripted fidelity they are taught in the training to help workshop participants learn to self-manage symptoms and live a healthier life. The first step is to attend a 7 week free virtual training. The training will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning on November 1st through December 13th.   The training will be held via Zoom between 2pm and 4:30pm. Attendance is mandatory for all sessions Upon completing the training, leaders will go on to co-lead both virtual workshops and in-person workshops. There is also an opportunity to become an Independent Contractor and be paid a stipend to co-lead the program if interested. Leaders must host two workshops in the community within their first year of being trained. The Own Your Health Collaborative is in charge of program outreach and workshop scheduling, we will reach out to leaders when we have workshops available and the leader’s only job is to lead the workshops they are assigned to.
