Dear Friends of URI Crew,

The URI Crew Club is excited to announce we will be offering work-a-thons again this fall! Over the past few weeks, the team has been diligently working with the University to develop a social distancing protocol that will allow us to continue fundraising and stay involved in the local community while keeping you and our rowers safe!

To Schedule a Work-a-thon

Email Kathryn and Joe at rhodyworkathon@gmail.com

Include the following information

  1. Your name, address, and contact information
  2. Detailed explanation of the job you want done and an estimate of how long it will take.
  3. The number of rowers you would like to hire (max of 5) – this year we will continue to charge $18/hr/rower
  4. Any equipment required
  5. The date and time – we are available every Saturday (after 12) and Sunday (after 9am) until 11/22

COVID-19 Precautions

All Work-a-thons must be CONTACTLESS:

  • You must maintain a minimum distance of 14ft from the rowers at all times
  • Please provide detailed instructions and consider providing a phone number, so you can communicate with the rowers while maintaining proper distancing
  • Unfortunately we cannot allow anyone to work alongside our rowers. This year we ask you to sit back, relax, and let us do all the work for you (from 14ft away)!
  • At the end of the workathon, please place the payment in an envelope and transfer to a rower without contact

Equipment

  • Rowers will bring their own work gloves
  • We will make every effort to provide equipment, but we have limited resources
  • If we require equipment to be provided, we ask you set it up beforehand, to avoid contact with the rowers
  • Rowers will sanitize all equipment before and after use

COVID Screening and other precautions

  • All rowers will fill out the COVID screening form provided by URI before participating in a workathons
  • We ask you fill out a COVID screening form we will provide on the day of the workathon as well
  • Rowers will wear masks at all times and sanitize their hands frequently
  • Rowers will maintain 14 feet between themselves and the client at all times

Keeping you, our rowers, and our community safe and healthy is our top priority. We cannot accept any work-a-thons that will require us to break social distancing guidelines set by our team and the University. We also reserve the right to cancel a work-a-thon at any point if we feel proper protocol is not being followed. We understand these guidelines are less than ideal and may complicate some work-a-thon requests, but we look forward to working with you to find safe, creative solutions that keep everyone healthy while getting the job done! Thank you in advance for your understanding and continued support as we navigate through these trying times together!

Sincerely,

Kathryn and Joe
