Lecture by Michael McCarten- A now retired U.S. Navy physician describes the state of battlefield medicine in the 21st century. His presentation centers about the care provided to, and the evacuation of, casualties from Kandahar Airfield in southern Afghanistan. (Warning: There will be some disturbing images in the talk.)

GREAT DECISIONS BOOK ORDER 2025- We have 6 more books available. The cost for OLLI members is $30 (normally $35). If you would like to pre-order a book, please bring a check (made payable to URI) to the office. (Cash and Credit Card not accepted). These will be available on a first come first served basis. Books will be shipped to the office after the first of the year. The OLLI discussions are member-led and will begin in February with sessions at 3:00pm on the third Thursday of the month and at 10:00am on the third Friday. Registration for each session is required every semester.
