Women in Combat with Brian Wallin

Tues, July 13, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM   $10.00

Starting with the first woman known to bear arms under the American flag, this program traces the exploits of those brave women who, sometimes dressed in male attire, fought in the defense of their country. Rhode Island’s own Kady Brownell, who fought beside her husband in the Civil War, is one of the heroic figures presented. The lecture also includes spy stories and traces the changing role of women in the military up to today.

The Labyrinth: Its History, Use, and Design with Yadina Clark
Thurs, July 15, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM   $10.00

The labyrinth is an ancient structure dating back thousands of years and found in numerous places around the world. It has become a symbol, now seen in public and private settings, of an opportunity for personal reflection, spiritual practice, or the reduction of stress in many situations. Explore the benefits of meditative walking and the labyrinth experience, the ebb and flow of labyrinth use throughout history, the variety of ancient and contemporary labyrinth designs, and the many labyrinths in the New England region.

Surviving a Year of Pandemic with Kathleen Greer      Tues, July 20, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM $10.00

The pandemic has taken a great psychological toll on individuals and families over the past year. This session will provide an opportunity to gather virtually to discuss trauma and resilience with others. By sharing what we’ve learned, participants will be able to connect, re-frame, and rebuild from the strength and experiences of others.

July Tech Talk
Photos, Photos and Photos, OH MY!!
Thursday, July 29, 11:30AM

The discussion this month will be about the storage & organization of all our photos on our different devices. The first half will focus on suggestions and the second half will allow for open discussion & sharing of other alternatives from those attending.

Do you have a smart phone with hundreds (if not more) pictures stored on the phone? Do you worry what would happen to the photos if you lost your phone? Do you wish you could organize them into virtual “albums”? Did you know that you can access them via a computer and thus have access to them anywhere – NOT just on your phone? Did you know that typically photos take up the largest amount of storage space on your smartphone and wish you could free some of that space?

Whether you use an iPhone or an Android or any other smartphone with a camera, you can do these things. Join us at the July Tech Talks and see how! Click here to register.
