SUMMER REGISTRATION CONTINUES ! ☀️

The summer catalogs were mailed to all OLLI members! You can also browse the catalog online by Clicking Here

3.       Walk-in: 210 Flagg Road

4.       Mail: download the summer registration form from our website (or pick one up in the office). Fill it out and include a check (made out to URI).  Important Tips:

  • Password Update Required: If you haven’t already done so – OLLI users must reset their passwords to meet enhanced security standards (minimum 12 characters). When you sign in, you may see a pop-up notification prompting the change if needed. 
  • Check Your Membership Renewal Date: Your membership must be active throughout the duration of your classes. The system will now prompt you to renew if necessary.

Get to Know URI Sailing – 1 Session at The URI Sailing Center, with Joakim Karlsen, Mon, July 7, 10-11AM Join us to learn about the various boats they sail, their rigorous training schedule, the exciting regatta calendar, and the diverse disciplines in which they compete. Come and explore what makes the URI Sailing Team a standout in collegiate sailing.

Spirit of Flight  3 Sessions with Jet Vertz beginning Mon, July 7, 1:30-3PM In this class, we will study notable inventive flight pioneers to learn how they were able to solve the science of flight, learn how jet engines work, and look beyond the earth and into the future to see how our spirit of flight continues.

History of Beer – 6 Sessions with Dr. Karl Brown beginning Tues, July 8, 7-8:30PM (ZOOM) Historians, beer enthusiasts, and curious minds alike will enjoy this exploration of the history of brewing. This course meets during happy hour, so feel free—nay, encouraged—to raise a glass and toast to history while we learn.

BIKING GROUP- Did you know OLLI has a Biking Group? Please note: During the Summer the OLLI Biking Group will gather on Tuesdays at 10:00AM for a weekly ride (weather permitting). The group meets at the back of the OLLI lot (#21) near the bike path. The ride is approximately 8 miles, including connecting with the SK Bike Path. NEW SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP- CRIBBAGE Join the group and have some fun! If you’ve never played Cribbage it’s a great time to learn! It involves strategy, social interaction, and analytic thought. It’s good for brain health which can even reduce the risk of dementia and depression. Register Online and meet in the OLLI lobby on Wednesdays, at 2:00PM. If you have a board, please bring it along.

GARDENING WITH THE MASTERS– July 19 and July 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.A biennial, two-day event that allows ticket holders to visit the beautiful gardens of (and tended by) certified URI Master Gardener volunteers. Tour participants have the opportunity to go behind the gates at gardens that showcase environmentally-friendly gardening practices across Rhode Island. Examples of practices on display include hot and cold composting, native plant pollinator gardens, hugelkultur, low-input vegetable growing, drip irrigation, small-space and container gardening, and more! Admission tickets are $30/each. Each ticket admits one visitor to all the gardens open during the official tour weekend. During the registration process, you will have the option to purchase multiple tickets (up to ten). Ticket purchases are non-refundable. Tickets are transferable in the event that you are unable to attend the tour. Bring Family and Friends, but kindly leave your pets at home with the exception of service animals: Admission is free for youth under 18 accompanied by an adult.

BOOK LAUNCHThe Good Goodbye: The Transformative Power of Conversation at the End of Life by  Maureen Keely and Julie Yingling (OLLI Member).
