LET’S TALK TO TECHNOLOGY – Free for members by registration required.

The Technology Committee invites you to join the September Let’s Talk Technology program: Photos, Photos and Photos, OH MY!!

Thursday, September 29, 2022 11:30am – 1:00pm on Zoom

The discussion this month will be about the storage & organization of all our digital photos on our different devices. The first half will focus on suggestions and the second half will allow for open discussion & sharing of other alternatives from those attending.

  • Do you have a smart phone with hundreds (if not more) pictures stored on the phone?

  • Do you worry what would happen to the photos if you lost your phone?

  • Do you wish you could organize them into virtual “albums”?

  • Did you know that you can access them via a computer, which means you have access to them anywhere – NOT just on your phone?

  • Did you know that photos typically take up the largest amount of storage space on your smartphone? Do you wish you could free up some of that space?

Whether you use an iPhone or an Android or any other smartphone with a camera, you can do these things. Join us at the September Tech Talk and see how!

Register online or call the office at 401-874-4197.

RHODY OUTPOST PRESENTATION AT OLLI

Here at URI, one of the ways that we help support students’ basic needs is through the Rhody Outpost (RO). Any current URI student can receive non-perishable food, fresh produce, eggs, and basic household/personal items each week through the RO.

Dr. Jacqui Springer, Assistant Dean for Student Support and Advocacy Services (SSAS), and Barbara Sweeney, Food Security Outreach Coordinator, will present an overview of the Rhody Outpost, including current needs and volunteer opportunities, on September 30, at 11AM at OLLI. Click here for all the details. Registration is not required.

WORKSHOP: Paul Dolan, Area Council Director of RI RC&D is having an in-person workshop to help forest landowners promote the development of critical wildlife habitats using sound forest management practices.
