There’s Still Time to Register!

SPOOKY TALES WITH DEBBIE SUGGS on Monday, October 30, 4:00PM-5:30PM  $15- Join OLLI presenter and history buff Debbie Suggs, for a chilling talk about Rhode Island’s creepy history and the people and places that make the State a spooktacular place to live. During the presentation we will talk about famous and not so famous pre-industrial urban legends and folklore. Join us if you dare!!!! 

CLASS SPOTLIGHT: Join us as we celebrate Veterans Day, unveiling our Wall of Honor and welcoming Tim Gray from the WWII Foundation for a special presentation, A Tribute to Our World War II Veterans: Stories from the Disappearing Generation. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov 2, with refreshments at 12:00PM followed by the presentation from 1:00PM-2:30PM. Registration is FREE but required. Register online or call 401-874-4197.

Tim Gray, a graduate of South Kingstown High School and URI, is founder and president of the WWII Foundation in South Kingstown, which has produced 34 documentary films based on the personal stories of those who served and survived World War II, among them former RI governor Bruce Sundlun in the film Above and Beyond (available on Netflix) and The Seabees on Iwo Jima (released in spring 2023). It is the mission of the Foundation to “instill the lessons the war taught us and make them accessible, relatable, and impactful at no cost to students, educators, veterans, or the public.” For more about Tim and the WWII Foundation, click here.
