3 Sessions starting Friday, December 8, 10:00AM-11:30AM

Want to get the most out of your iPhone camera? We will learn how to create stunning landscape and architecture photos, take good macro (close-up) photos, capture unobtrusive candid images, and take photos in the dark of night. We will also discuss using selected camera apps to extend control over your iPhone, how to sync with the Apple and/or Google cloud so your photos are available across all your devices, and how to move, share, and save pictures, including moving images between iPhone, iPad, and computer. Finally, we will explore many hidden features in the Apple Photos app as well as available gear and gadgets that can make your mobile life easier.

OLLI WALKS ON PAUSE FOR DECEMBER: The group will transition to the OLLI Hiking Group in January. If you were registered for the Walking Group and would like to be part of the Hiking Group, you must register again. Registration opens on December 12.

Domestic Violence: It’s Your Business- Tuesday, December 14, 12:00PM-1:30PM. Representatives from the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County (DVRCSC) will discuss topics including:

INTERESTED IN CURRENT EVENTS? Join your OLLI friends for a weekly discussion on Thursdays, December 7, and December 14, from 11:00am-1:00pm facilitated by a member. Members will come together for lively discussions on local, state, national, and worldwide topics. This group will be encouraged to share interesting articles, photos, and other content related to current events, and urged to share their own thoughts and ideas in a respectful manner. This is a drop-in program and pre-registration is not required.

BLOOD DRIVE- Many OLLI members are familiar with Dr. Erica Estus, from the URI Pharmacy program. She has brought many programs to OLLI as well as providing us with our Cyber Seniors students each semester. We recently welcomed Erica’s Mom into the OLLI family and this week a Blood Drive will be held in honor of her Dad, Ron. During Ron’s fight with leukemia, he received blood transfusions. Dr. Estus, and her family, would be grateful to all who donate blood. Click here for all the details!

MUSIC FOR PEACE- Are you looking for inner peace? Join us for an enchanting evening of traditional music with six Tibetan monks from Drepung Loseling Phukhang, India! The special event is free and open to the public. The monks will bring some souvenirs for sale and welcome any donations. RHODY OUTPOST-  There is an updated list of URGENTLY NEEDED donations for the holiday season. Please consider making a donation! Donations can be dropped off in the OLLI office. Gift cards are also accepted. They respectfully ask that you do not donate traditional “holiday” items such as stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams, etc. These are not popular items among the students.

DEMENTIA: BREAKING THE STIGMAS -The Evolution of Disease. Free and open to the public.
