Faculty Development is part of the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning (ATL). We help faculty create high quality learning experiences and adapt evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
For course evaluations, URI uses the Diagnostic Feedback instrument developed by the IDEA Center. Starting in Spring 2018, the instrument is administered via the Campus Labs online platform.

Formerly known as the HIT Seminar
- Would you like to see more students achieve significant learning in your courses?
- Do you have students engaged in “shallow” learning strategies (e.g. cramming)?
- Do you want more students to come to class prepared?
- Do you want students to be more active in the classroom but still cover important course content?
If you answered YES to one or more of these, the Teaching for Learning Seminar is for you.
