  • Team Captains must first create their team at University of Rhode Island IMLeagues.
  • Team Captains must turn in a completed Registration form and pay registration fees in the IM Sports Office (Keaney, Room 120) during registration period.
  • Team Captains must watch the online Captain’s video and pass the quiz BEFORE the Registration deadline.  Teams will not be able to choose playing dates/times until ALL of these steps are completed AND the team roster reaches the minimum number of players.
  • All Registration forms, general policies and procedures in the Intramural Handbook and sport specific rules can be found on the “Info” tab at University of Rhode Island IMLeagues.

Participant Eligibility

Participants are responsible for their own eligibility. Team captains are responsible for checking the eligibility of their individual team members. Inquiring about eligibility in advance precludes unnecessary delays and potential disqualifications. The Intramural Sports Program will check the eligibility of players if a team captain lodges a formal protest or if the Intramural Sports Program has reason to believe any player in question is not eligible.

Students
All student participants must be enrolled (full or part-time) at the University of Rhode Island and have paid the recreation fee in order to be eligible for participation in the Intramural Program.

Faculty & Staff
All participants must have paid the recreation fee in order to be eligible for participation in the Intramural Program.

Intercollegiate Athletes
“Active” members of an intercollegiate team(s) are not eligible to participate in that sport or related activities (e.g., Varsity soccer players may not participate in IM soccer).  Any person that appears on the official varsity team roster is considered to be part of that intercollegiate team.  A player must wait one full calendar year from the date of their last varsity participation before he/she is eligible to participate in that Intramural sports or related activity.

Club Sport Athletes
A maximum of three (3) club sport members may participate in the same or equivalent sport in which they participate.
