The URI Sailing Club has been an active club for many years with its mission of promoting the sport of Sailing to all URI community members. No experience is needed other than the willingness to have fun and maybe get a little wet!  

Meetings are held all year, to either plan the weekend sailing excursions or to learn additional skills related to sailing. Club members arrange carpooling to the URI Sailing Center which is located approximately 15 minutes off-campus.  

The Sailing Center is home to the URI Sailing Team, URI Sailing Club, academic Kinesiology classes, and an active community summer sailing program. Club Members have access to two dozen sailboats and numerous kayaks and paddleboards. All of this is free to students and instruction is available.
