Campus Rec Members, ‘Tis the season for gratitude! Hope you and your families are all doing well during these unprecedented times. The Campus Rec Team wanted to take a moment to re-connect with you and share new information that affects our recreational facility operations and program opportunities during the upcoming months.
2020 was not a year that anyone expected! Amid one of the most unusual and challenging back-to-school fall semesters in memory, the entire URI community worked together and successfully navigated the fall 2020 semester! Although our recreational facilities looked different and we were not able to hold many of our regular programs, the Campus Rec Team did an incredible job and was able to adjust by creating new programs (including virtual program offerings) and experiences for the University community to enjoy.
Looking ahead, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some new information that affects our recreational facility operations and upcoming program opportunities.
IMPORTANT UPDATES
Rhode Island just ended its “Pause” period on 12/21/2020. The “Pause” was intended to reduce community transmission of the COVID-19 virus by dialing down overall mobility and reducing social gatherings. As a result, the Mackal/Tootell Complex and the Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center were not allowed to operate during the “Pause” period.
The Campus Recreation facilities will remain closed until further notice due to the holiday and semester break. If you have a Platinum or TAC Membership, please see the Facilities “Pause” Membership Updates section below. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay active and participate in our virtual recreation programs when possible! For more information, please visit, virtual programs or view our social media platforms.
J-Term Period (Jan. 4 – 22, 2021) Recreational Facility Hours of Operation
Exact dates & hours of re-opening for all recreation facilities are TBA. Please keep an eye on the hours’ page or view our social media platforms for the latest facility updates.
