Or Volunteer

During the unpredictable crisis of the coronavirus pandemic, it is more important than ever to look out for our neighbors. There are many ways we all can help one another while continuing to follow health and safety guidelines.

  • Donate blood The Rhode Island Blood Center has a critical need for donations and expects the demand to remain high for the foreseeable future. It is safe to donate at any of the center’s six sites: Providence, Middletown, Narragansett, Warwick, Westerly, and Woonsocket. Visit the RI Blood Center or call (800) 283-8385 to make an appointment.
  • Neighborhood volunteerism With so many people quarantined and sheltered in place, identify a neighbor or two, or a senior citizen, and check in on them. Offer to share a hot meal you’re making. Ask if they need anything if you’re going out. Right now, small gestures can make a big difference.
  • Winter weather could mean shoveling! help a neighbor clear their walkways or driveway.
