- Facility Dog
Winsome, aka “Winnie,” is a 2 year old golden and labrador retriever mix. She is a type of assistance dog known as a facility dog. She comes to us from the Assistance Dogs International accredited non-profit, Dogs for Better Lives (DBL). DBL describes facility dogs as follows: “Facility Dogs are trained to perform specific tasks, are placed with working professionals, and can be a valuable addition to their work with people with disabilities or vulnerable populations.”
Winnie works at The Counseling Center alongside clinical counselor Danielle Madden, LICSW. You may see her at our center in a 1-on-1 appointment, in group therapy sessions, or out on campus at various Counseling Center events. Winnie enjoys cuddling, napping, and long walks.
