Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Renewable Energy

URI Cooperative Extension developed the goal and set of sub-goals described below after more than six months of consultation with, and discussion among, key thinkers, partners, and stakeholders in the state.

Goal:

By 2021, Cooperative Extension will have prepared Rhode Islanders to face current and future energy challenges by developing and implementing measures for sustainable energy production, efficiency and conservation.

Sub-goals:

Increased Rhode Islanders’ energy literacy through education and outreach on contemporary energy challenges,
Brought about behavioral change in individuals, businesses, communities and agencies to increase sustainable energy production, efficiency and conservation,
Provided workforce development to support the energy sector in the state of Rhode Island, and
Expanded the scope of energy programs at University of Rhode Island.
