URI-GEO Biannual Field Trip to the Colorado Plateau

All GEO majors get a first-hand look at the spectacular outcrops of the American Southwest as part of a 10-day field trip to the Colorado Plateau.  Students camp, and visit classic geologic localities, from the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest, to less visited (but no less spectacular) localities such as Strawberry Crater and the Painted Desert.  Here are some students’ impressions from the 2014 field trip.
