Ocean Classroom (Spots): Marine Operations

R/V Endeavor spends approximately 200 days a year at sea, allowing scientists from GSO and around the world to conduct research and training programs aboard an NSF-owned, multi-disciplinary oceanographic research vessel.

Who makes it happen? Introducing Marine Operations, our dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the success of scientific expeditions at URI GSO. Driven by a sense of adventure, the natural beauty of life at sea, and a commitment to advancing science, the Marine Ops team is responsible for operating and maintaining R/V Endeavor. Now, they are also preparing for the new technologies and enhanced capabilities that will accompany the arrival of our new research vessel, R/V Narragansett Dawn.
