Biography
Amber Neville is Assistant Director at the URI Coastal Institute (CI). In this role, she oversees the programmatic design and implementation of CI projects and engagement activities, as well as day-to-day operations. Amber co-leads the Research Translation Core of URI’s STEEP (Sources, Transport, Exposure & Effects of PFAS) Superfund Research Program, sits on the editorial board of 41ºN, and is co-leader of Rhode Island’s Scientific Support for Environmental Emergency Response (SSEER) network. She also serves as Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) for the North Atlantic Cooperative Ecostudies Studies Unit and helps lead the CI’s Climate Response Demonstration Site initiative. Prior to joining the CI, Amber worked as an Engagement Specialist at the URI Coastal Resources Center on public process projects including the RI Island Shellfish Management Plan and the RI Ocean Special Area Management Plan. Amber received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island and her B.A. in English Literature from Seattle University. She holds a social media marketing certificate from Rutgers University and in Diversity Equity and inclusion from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is certified in project management.
