University of Rhode Island Commencement Weekend to be held May 16–18, 2025 on the Kingston Campus

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! The Graduate School of Oceanography commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 5 p.m. at the Ryan Center on the Kingston Campus. The day before, on May 16 at 3:30 p.m., we will honor the degree recipients from the past year at the GSO Shirting Ceremony, a time-honored tradition, in Corless Auditorium on the URI Bay Campus.

Commencement speaker: GSO’s Puja Banerjee

Banerjee, who is from Agartala, a city in the Indian state of Tripura, will be graduating with a Ph.D. in oceanography from GSO, and plans to pursue a career where she can apply her research, data analysis, and project management skills beyond academia.
