Happy Holidays and to all of you from the South County Habitat for Humanity & University of Rhode Island partnership!
About the Partnership
For over 20 years, South County Habitat has partnered with URI to address the need in our area for affordable housing, but in 2009, an expanded campus wide partnership was launched to complete a 4 house development on Old North Road near the Emporium. By the fall 2015, URI students, faculty and administration raised over $500,000 for the Old North Neighborhood as well as multiple other projects. Since 2009, 4 homes have been dedicated in Kingston, and one home in Exeter.
“The relationship between the University of Rhode Island and South County Habitat for Humanity is a powerful partnership that enriches both organizations while helping to overcome the burdens of poverty housing in the community and around the world.” – Lou Raymond, Exec. Director, SC Habitat for Humanity
