Housed in the URI Music Department’s Choral Library is a collection of single copies of choral music, mostly in octavo sized leaflets (7 x 10 3/4 inches), the typical format for short choral pieces.  This music comes from several donations – the main one being from retired URI Music Education professor Dr. Carolyn Livingston, whose  system I adapted for organizing the collection.  Another major contributor is URI Music alumnus Carl Swanson.  Other contributors include Dr. Winnifred Brownell, retired Dean of the the URI College of Arts and Sciences, Delight Carpenter, a church musician and piano teacher from Kingston, RI and myself.

Cataloging and organizing this music happened bit by bit over several years with the help of URI students Michelle Legault, Luke Murphy, Noah Denzer, and Sarah O’Brien.
