VEGETABLE RESEARCH AT URI– Thursday, August 1, 6:00PM – Meets at Gardner Research Center, 7 Thirty Acre Pond Rd, Click for directions. This is a walking tour, and the farm roads are not paved. Ever wonder what is happening in the fields off Plains Road? Interested in learning about how URI is supporting local food production? Spend an evening touring the Gardiner Crops Research Center and learning about vegetable production research at URI. Topics will include vegetable variety trials, prevention of bird damage to sweet corn, high tunnel vegetable production, cover crops for soil health, polycultures, and crops in urban community gardens for ethnic groups.Click for more information and to register.

OLLI HIKING GROUP – The Hiking Group will be taking a pause for the remainder of the summer and will resume in the fall. You can still register, so you don’t miss out on their returning date and hike information.  

PARKING UPDATE-  The URI parking system is unable to take our car registrations at this time. We will let you know when you are able to register your vehicle for the new academic year. You can continue to park in the OLLI parking lot #21.

RHODY OUTPOST–  Rhody Outpost is URI’s principal basic needs pantry for students experiencing food insecurity. The Outpost provides fresh and non-perishable food and personal care items at no charge to students. Click here to see the updated Summer wish list. High demand items right now include PAPER TOWELS AND TOILET PAPER. Donations can be dropped off in the OLLI office.

SENIOR DAY: A HEALTH, WELLNESS AND FALL RISK PROGRAM The University of Rhode Island would like to cordially invite you to participate in our annual Senior Day: A health, wellness and fall risk program. Please find the attached flyer, which has information on the dates and times for participating in the program. Registration is limited and open until August 23.
