CLOSED CLASSES CLICK to view the list of closed classes. Remember to add your name to the Wait List. There are always cancellations and sometimes we are able to add another session of the class.

REMINDER: The students are back on campus this weekend so expect more traffic on route 138 and adjacent roads. Give yourself a little extra time arriving for your class!

CLASS REMINDER: We sometimes have to cancel a course due to low enrollment. If a class has less than 10 registrations it will be canceled and registration fees will be refunded. You will be notified via email and a follow up phone call.

If you are interested in any of the classes listed below, which are starting soon, please register today so we don’t have to cancel! Click the title to read more and register online or call 401.874.4197.

PARKING UPDATE – The URI parking system is now able to take your car registration information. If you provided our office with your information, you will receive an email confirmation from URI Parking that it has been entered. Just be sure to have this completed prior to attending your first class this fall. We are happy to register your vehicle for you. Just give the office a call and provide your license plate number, along with the make, model and color of your vehicle.

New members please know that it can take up to 2 weeks before your OLLI Information is entered into the URI parking system. Please don’t call Parking Services. RHODY WORKATHONS ARE BACK! What exactly are workathons? URI rowers can stop by to help provide general yard work, moving furniture, cleaning, painting, etc. for a maximum of four to five hours at a time. You tell them the task, and the number of rowers you need, and they schedule to help you out. Most of our rowers are living in URI in dorms or the Narragansett area, so they can do anything within a reasonable distance. The hourly rate for each rower is $25, with the entire sum going to the team to help fund race costs, equipment, buses, etc. to help keep the team prospering. Throughout the year, they will be holding multiple fundraising events, such as alumni day, an erg-a-thon, and shoveling, as well as looking into a community learn to row and golf event with more to come potentially. Any additional donations throughout the year are greatly appreciated and will help keep this team a “stroke” ahead of the competition.

They will be starting all workathons on September 7, with weekend scheduling only. Dates for available workathons will change as regatta dates and rower availability change. For any questions or scheduling your next workathon, you can email Cody and Ali at rhodyworkathon@gmail.com.
