SHOW YOUR OLLI SPIRIT! Help showcase OLLI at the Town of South Kingstown 300th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, June 17, sponsored by the University of Rhode Island. Join in the fun and celebrate OLLI as we march in the 1.2-mile parade in Wakefield. We are hoping to have a large representation of OLLI members with full pageantry and pomp and circumstance as we toot our horn about our lifelong learning community. Plans are beginning to take shape and we invite you to join us here at OLLI on Wednesday, April 26, at 1:00pm as we make the final preparations. The Parade kicks off at 10AM and will conclude with a community wide picnic with food and beverages. Stop by the OLLI office (or call 401-874-4197) if you are interested in learning more and to put your name on the list of participants (this will allow us to order enough OLLI hats for those marching).
OLLI SERVES– This OLLI initiative is intended to “give back” to the URI community and other organizations. OLLI has been supporting the URI RHODY OUTPOST, which is a food and basic needs pantry run by the URI Student Support and Advocacy Services. The collection bin is in the OLLI office. Future OLLI SERVES projects include working with the URI international students, career and experiential learning, and welcoming local non-profit groups to share their mission and how OLLI members might be involved. Our next meeting is on Friday, April 28, 10:00AM at OLLI. Please register online for this new Special Interest Group.
RHODY OUTPOST For the month of April OLLI will continue to help stock the Rhody Outpost pantry with basic things that are used on a regular basis.

Climate change can seem complicated – from mitigation to adaptation to increasingly visible impacts, it’s hard to focus our attention. Factor in the ocean and it can seem downright overwhelming.
