This Week at OLLI

Week of April 17

CLASS SPOTLIGHT- Playing with Classics: Poems, Starts today, 1:30PM-3:00PM Instructor: Laurie Heineman

We will read, discuss, and play with some familiar and possibly unfamiliar classics — poems, monologues, and other material. You choose. Who is speaking? Why? How does it feel? Move? Does it make me laugh, cry, fret, sigh? Could it be a short play? No experience necessary. No love of poetry required. Come with low expectations and a willingness to have fun!

Call the office to register at 401-874-4197.

THE OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON THURSDAY, from 9:00AM-11:00AM for our annual volunteer appreciation breakfast.

WHO DOESN’T LOVE A PARADE? Let’s showcase OLLI at the Town of South Kingstown 300th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, June 17, sponsored by the University of Rhode Island. Join in the fun and celebrate OLLI as we march in the 1.2-mile parade in Wakefield. We are hoping to have a large representation of OLLI members with full pageantry and pomp and circumstance as we toot our horn about our lifelong learning community. Plans are beginning to take shape and we invite you to join us here at OLLI on Wednesday, April 26, at 1:00pm as we make the final preparations. The Parade kicks off at 10am and will conclude with a community wide picnic with food and beverages. Stop by the OLLI office (or call 401-874-4197) if you are interested in learning more and to put your name on the list of participants (this will allow us to order enough OLLI hats for those marching).
