Varian 500 MHz NMR spectrometer

NMR2This instrument is a 500 MHz three-channel VNMRS NMR spectrometer with a 5mm, room temperature, OneNMR probe. The two broadband channels are tunable from 15N to 31P under full automation. One- and two-dimensional NMR experiments are routinely acquired. This instrument primarily supports marine and plant natural products chemistry research.  Funding for the instrument was provided through a NFS EPSCoR grant. Bruker 300 MHz NMR Spectrometer

The Bruker instrument is a 300 MHz two-channel Avance III nanobay NMR spectrometer with a 24-position sample changer, and a 5mm room temperature SmartProbe. The broadband channel is tunable from 15N to 19F under full automation. One- and two-dimensional NMR experiment can also be acquired under full automation. This instrument primarily supports medicinal and synthetic chemistry research and teaching.

Polarimeter Jasco P-2000 Polarimeter

A polarimeter  measures the optical rotation of optically active substances.  The Jasco P-2000 Polarimeter provides a  single Tungsten source and two wavelengths (589 or 365nm) as well as two Cell Aperature sizes:  3mm for 1ml volumes and 8mm for 10ml volume.

Filter-based Multi-mode Microplate Reader with Simultaneous Dual Emission Detection 

The POLARstar OPTIMA multidetection microplate reader offers all the features of the FLUOstar OPTIMA plus Fluorescence Polarization and a unique simultaneous dual emission detection system, which allows the detection of two emitted wavelengths at the same time. Simultaneous Dual Emission Detection is especially useful for FRET, BRET and Fluorescence Polarization assays since the plate only has to be read once, and when compared to other microplate readers, gives increased throughput, improved sensitivity and lower %CVs – no other reader in this price range offers Simultaneous Dual Emission.

Multimode Micro Plate Reader-M2 Spectramax M2 Multi-Mode microplate reader

The Spectramax M2 Multi-Mode microplate reader provides two detection modes in one platform and has the added functionality of bottom read fluorescence for cell based assays. Assays can be better optimized by scanning across a range of wavelengths in increments as small as 1 nm.  Up to 4 wavelength pairs can be read in one protocol for endpoint and kinetic measurements, allowing for fast setup of FRET assays.  The SoftMax® Pro Data Acquisition & Analysis Software is Molecular Devices’ industry leading all-in-one software.

Multimode Micro Plate Reader-iD3 

The Molecular Devices SpectraMax iD3 reader measures absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence and has an injector system for flash assays. The superior optical system includes a xenon flash lamp and features an ultra-cooled photomultiplier tube (PMT) that reduces background noise for excellent sensitivity and a wide dynamic range.

Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectropolarimeter Jasco J-1100 CD Spectrometer

The new Jasco J-1100 CD Spectrometer  can measure CD, LD and Absorbance for proteins and DNA using as little as 5ul of sample.  The software has been upgraded to the Spectra Manager II Spectroscopy Suite. A circular dichroism (CD) spectropolarimeter measures left- and right-handed circularly polarized light of optically active molecules.  It is a hybrid instrument consisting of a variable wavelength polarimeter and absorption spectrophotometer.

Microplate Luminometer GloMax System

The GloMax System is high performance dedicated luminometer . All the programming is done with built-in protocols for Promega luminescent assays.  Here are some features of GloMax™ 96 microplate luminometer:

SpectraMax ID3 Plate Reader

The SpectraMax ID3 plate reader can measure uv-visible absorption, fluorescence, and luminescence using microplate formats from 6- to 384-wells. Samples can be temperature controlled from ambient to 65°C.The ID3 has an injector system which permits flash applications such as dual luciferase and ATP assays with equal mixing across the plate. The injectors can be used in any read mode. Still available in the Facility is the SpectraMax M2 plate reader.

Genesys 50 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

This self-contained instrument uses a xenon light source to cover the ultraviolet through visible light range. It has easy to use software with many predefine protocols including an OD600 method for cell concentration studies. All controls are on a color touchscreen. The Genesys 50 will replace the DU800 spectrophotometer, which will be retired.
