Did you know that microplastics – tiny bits of plastic that are shed by our clothes or the result of weathering/breaking down of the now nearly ubiquitous plastic waste found in the environment – can be found in waterbodies throughout the world? Researchers at URI are working to learn more about microplastics in RI’s freshwater, and engaging URIWW volunteers in the process.
