  • Visit the URI Fine Arts Galleries

  • Attend a concert through the URI Department of Music
  • Walk to Hera Gallery, a space for contemporary art, inclusivity, and social change
  • Take in some live music at the Courthouse Center for the Arts
  • Visit the Fantastic Umbrella Factory
  • Browse the RISD Art Museum (free on Sundays)
  • Paint pottery, mold candles, or fuse glass at Create! Color Art Studio (Narragansett)

Stay In:

  • Plant a succulent terrarium for your bedroom
  • Paint, color or craft
  • Knit or crochet
  • Listen to music
  • Dance and/or sing
  • Make a vision board/collage
  • Download a free coloring app on your phone such as Colorfly

Connect with Others

  • Find URI organizations and events through urinvolved.uri.edu or the Rhody Connect app
  • Call someone who makes you laugh
  • Volunteer through the URI Office of Civic Engagement & Action
  • Take a walk around campus with a friend
  • Play cards or board games at 193 Coffeehouse in the Memorial Union
  • Attend a URI home game (free for students)
  • Invite a friend or residence hall neighbor to join in any of these activities!

Outdoors

  • Jump on the South County Bike Path (starting from Brookside Residence Hall)
  • Stroll through the URI Medicinal Plant Gardens & Greenhouses
  • Go to one of Rhode Island’s beautiful beaches
  • Get into nature with a walk at Biscuit City Trail (less than a mile from URI)
  • Go surfing in Narragansett
  • Enjoy free kayak, paddleboard and sailboat rentals through the URI Sailing Center

Indoors

  • Sign up for a Body Pump, Zumba, Spin, or Yoga class through IMLeagues
  • Get in a workout at Mackal Field House or Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center
  • Go for a skate at Boss Ice Arena
  • Join an intramural team by signing up on IMLeagues.com
  • Invite friends to go bowling at Old Mountain Lanes
  • Challenge yourself at Rock Spot Climbing

Eating

  • Immerse yourself in the flavors, textures, and aromas of your meal
  • Ask an RA to organize an ice cream social for the floor/hall
  • Try a new recipe
