Biography

For over 30 years, Pam has worked globally to link engineering, natural hazards, and coastal management to provide technical assistance to vulnerable communities, focusing on storms and flooding. Through her leadership, she brings the best available science to incorporate science-based risk exposure and reduction practice to into tangible guidance, outreach tools, and community capacity-building approaches. Recent initiatives in the Northeast include launching a resilience community of practice, development of on-line training modules for volunteer decision-making boards, synthesizing information on climate trends and initiatives, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to develop and apply science-based storm impact tools, and mobilizing community members to monitor extreme high tide flooding to visualize what a future with rising seas will look like in Rhode Island.

Education

Pam has a master’s degree in marine policy from University of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s of civil engineering from University of Delaware
