Biography

Veronica M. Berounsky is the alumni relations and communications coordinator for GSO Public Engagement. She is responsible for creating, coordinating and implementing GSO alum relations projects. Using her research and writing skills, she creates content for the GSO website and print publications, such as Aboard GSO.  She communicates with GSO’s graduates and is the editor of Anchor Lines, the monthly email alum newsletter. Veronica connects our alums with our present students through networking events, career seminars and alum fund awards. She plans and organizes reunions that bring alums back to campus.

An alum of GSO herself (Ph.D. 1990), Veronica knows GSO has a strong sense of community and is a special place for graduate school. Continuing that community and fostering connections to GSO as our graduates move to other places and other positions is crucial to Veronica’s role.

A coastal ecologist by training, Veronica spends her free time monitoring the Narrow River and is co-president of the Narrow River Preservation Association. An avid open water swimmer, she can often be found in the water of Narrow River or Narragansett Bay, no matter the weather.

Veronica loves hearing from our alums who are always welcome to visit her office.
