- How can students be notified of their admission decision?
Students will receive an email notifying them of an update to their application status. When they log into their applicant portal, they will be able to view their decision.
- What is the deadline to commit to URI?
URI’s deposit deadline is May 1, 2025. These deposits are fully refundable through May 1, but non-refundable after this date. Admitted students will receive important updates about enrollment through our Rhode to Becoming a Ram (R2R) emails and website.
- How can students pay their enrollment deposit?
Newly admitted students can submit their enrollment deposit by logging into their admitted student portal.

ENROLLMENT, FINANCIAL AID, TUITION, AND BILLING
- When will students receive their financial aid award?
Early Action applicants will receive decisions or updates on their applications by the end of January. Those who apply between December 1 and February 1 will receive their decisions by the end of March. Merit scholarship notification is included in the acceptance letter, and financial aid awards will be released in the spring via the applicant portal.- Visit Enrollment Services and learn more about financial aid and definitions of the terminology you will encounter during the application process.
- We encourage students to file the FAFSA as soon as they are able, but we understand that some students are unable to do so because of a variety of factors.

ACADEMICS
- How can I learn more about academics?
We encourage you to join us on campus for one of our events to learn more about academics at URI. Our admitted student Welcome Days will be held in the spring. Registration for these events will open by the end of February.
- When is Orientation?
New Student Orientation is a two-day, overnight program beginning in late May through June. We also offer orientation options for transfer and international students.
- Who is eligible for the Honors Program?
The URI Honors Program will enrich students’ academic experience with smaller, seminar-style classes; interdisciplinary subjects; and an annual colloquium with distinguished speakers exploring current and emerging issues. Learn more about Honors Program eligibility requirements.
LIVING ON CAMPUS AND STUDENT LIFE
- Where can students learn more information about on-campus housing?Approximately 95% of incoming first year students live on campus in the first-year residence halls.
- How can students select a meal plan?
URI Dining Services offers two styles of meal plans and six options to fit student needs.
- Can first-year students purchase a parking permit?
First-year students living on campus are not eligible to purchase a resident parking permit to park their vehicle on campus; however, students can use off campus satellite parking options, which are available to all of our students.

URI CAMPUS HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Are health and wellness services available on-campus?
URI Health Services is a comprehensive health center centrally located on the Kingston Campus. Services include: ambulatory medical services, office visits, specialty clinics, allergy, immunization and travel services, psychiatric services, and pharmacy, x-ray and laboratory services on site.
