Overview
The Master in Environmental Management offers students an attractive pathway to a fully-online, stackable professional graduate degree aimed at equipping students with the critical skills and advanced training needed to address today’s complex environmental challenges while meeting industry needs.
The program integrates core themes that underpin the curriculum across existing certificates in areas such as resource management, methods of environmental analysis, effective data communication, and problem-solving techniques that best inform decision-making with the goal of developing leaders and stewards of our natural resources.
Through an engaging and collaborative online learning environment, students will have the opportunity to focus on two of three environmental science graduate certificates (Fisheries Science, GIS and Geospatial Technologies, and Natural Resources and the Environment) currently offered through URI Online.
Students will then have the opportunity to explore and hone their professional leadership skills within the context of their chosen areas of interest through an Environmental Leadership in Practice course. This course (EVS 505) emphasizes effective leadership styles, communication approaches, conflict resolution and group dynamics across environmental sectors.
