Lorne Adrain ’76 is New Foundation Chair
URI Foundation trustees have elected Providence businessman Adrain as their new volunteer chair, taking the helm from Thomas J. Silvia ’83, who will remain a board member.
Adrain has led a national corporate and estate life insurance practice for 20 years. A graduate of URI’s business school, he earned his MBA from Harvard and spent a number of years as an entrepreneur in the technology and environmental sectors. Highlights from a career marked by public service include stints as chair of the R.I. Board of Governors for Higher Education, president of the URI Alumni Association, and vice president of the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, as well as founding Social Enterprise Greenhouse. He is married to New York Times bestselling author Ann Hood ’78.
