URI Runs in the Durfee Family Bloodline
Wayne Durfee ’50, M.S. ’53,a URI professor emeritus of fisheries, animal and veterinary science, celebrated his 60th class reunion this year. His wife, the former Bernice Anderson ’49, whom he met on campus, holds a botany degree. Their son William “Will” Durfee ’88 earned his second degree, an M.B.A., at Graduate Commencement on Saturday, May 22, while Will’s daughter, Heather Durfee, earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences summa cum laude at the undergraduate exercises on Sunday, May 23. Will’s younger daughter, Alexis, has just completed her freshman year. And the Durfees’ daughter Bonita “Bonnie’ Durfee ’84 teaches high school science in Warwick.
