Welcome Our New Faculty
Ballentine Hall is bursting at the seams. We are pleased to welcome the following talented and accomplished new faculty to the University and the College of Business Administration.
Nancy Forster-Holt
Area: Entrepreneurship
Nancy Forster-Holt, PhD, MBA, CMA, RFG, is an assistant professor in the College of Business Administration. Her teaching interests include entrepreneurship, lean start-up, innovation, business valuation, business plans, small business management, entrepreneurial accounting and finance, and global strategy. Her research interests include: innovation in existing businesses (‘intrepreneurship’), business owner retirement, entrepreneurial and small firm exit, acquisition strategies, and “end”repreneurship.
Donna Gamache-Griffiths
Area: Law/Entrepreneurship
Donna Ganache-Griffiths joins us as a full-time business law and entrepreneurship lecturer after 10 years as an adjunct lecturer teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. She will focus on helping to develop the entrepreneurship curriculum and courses as well as build a network of entrepreneurs who will collaborate with the entrepreneurship faculty and students.
Shingo Goto
Area: Finance
Shingo Goto has joined us as an associate professor of finance. Goto’s research interests include various topics of investment and portfolio management. Goto has also been actively involved in the practice of portfolio management.
Emily Heaphy
Area: Management
Emily Heathy is an assistant professor of organizational behavior. Heaphy examines positive relationships at work, how they are built, and their effects. Her research on high quality connections articulates what positive work relationships are and how they make a difference at work.
Ji Hye Kang
Area: Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design
Ji Hye Kang joins us as an assistant professor, teaching undergraduate classes in Fashion Merchandise Buying, Fashion Retail Supply Chain Management, and Textile Markets.
Gulver Karamemis
Area: Supply Chain Management
Gulver Karamemis joins us as an assistant professor, with a background in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Statistics, and finance industry experience. Culver will be teaching undergraduate courses in Supply Chain Management.
Georges Tsafack Kemassong
Area: Finance
Having studied in Africa, Europe, and North America, Georges Tsafack has a global perspective of education and research on a wide range of topics including risk management and derivatives, fixed income, financial econometrics, international finance, and empirical corporate finance. He will be teaching undergraduate and graduate courses including fixed income, business analytics, and a doctoral seminar.
Feihong (Jerry) Xia
Area: Marketing
Feihong (Jerry) Xia comes to URI with extensive research focused on the frontiers of marketing phenomena such as digital marketing and online commerce, machine learning, statistics and economics. He will be teaching undergraduate marketing.
Xiaowei Xu
Area: Finance
Xiowei Xu joins us as an assistant professor of finance. She received her Ph.D. in finance from University of Alberta, Canada, in 2014. She has a wide range of research interests focusing on corporate governance, mutual fund flows, and insider trading.
We also welcome new lecturers Joshua Gilmore, Ongun Hasbora, Ryan Maguire and Eugen Trandafir.
