Stay Active. Stay Well. Stay Connected.

We know it hasn’t been easy, and we know that you have been doing your best, and giving all that you have to give. And we are so proud of you for that! So with the semester winding down, we at Campus Recreation want to always let you know that WE HAVE YOUR BACK! Whether we are introducing ourselves to you for the first time, or reintroducing ourselves in a new way, we’ve compiled a fun and helpful page of resources that caters to everyone!

Staying active is one of the best ways to build a strong immune system and stay healthy. And we know that when there feels like there aren’t enough hours in a day to finish all the work you have due, taking the time to move your body can easily fall onto the backburner. So with that in mind, we’ve created options that fit into any person’s busy schedule!

Below are options to help keep you active, working out at home, getting sleep, reducing anxiety, and taking care of your well-being during the last few weeks of school. As always, listen to your body and follow the advice of your physician and the CDC recommendations.

How are you doing?

Really?

Click on the “Feeling Hungry” button for our quick and nutritious 5 minute meals, especially for those days where you feel as though there simply isn’t enough time to eat (Make time, your nutrition is very important!). Maybe you even click the “Thriving” button– which is AMAZING! – and want something fun to do. Check out our 60-second dance videos, or endeavor on one of our crafts, like making a hot chocolate bomb!

  • How Does Exercise Affect the Brain? Exercise boosts your mood and reduces stress When you exercise, your body releases chemicals such as dopamine (pronounced doh-pa-meen) and endorphins (en-door-fins) in your brain that make you feel happy. Not only is your brain dumping out feel-good chemicals, but exercise also helps your brain get rid of chemicals that make you feel stressed and anxious. People who exercise tend to be happier and less stressed than those who don’t exercise. Regular exercise can also help you control your emotions when you do feel angry or upset.
