How does the distribution and reactivity of molecules affect the fate of the ocean?
Chemical reactions underpin the biological, physical and geological processes that happen in the ocean. Ocean chemistry examines the history of our planet, the cycling of nutrients and pollutants, as well as the fate of our oceans as the result of human-induced climate change. Broad topics in chemical oceanography including paleoclimatology, nutrient chemistry, pollution chemistry, isotope chemistry, biological productivity, ocean acidification, ocean deoxygenation and much in between.
