Hello, my name is Sarah Alves and I am the Student Coordinator of the #RhodyBound scholarship contests.

Favorite Season: Spring
Favorite Animal: Goats
Favorite Place in the World: The beach or the mountains
Fun Fact: I’ve lived in 4 states and have gone to 8 different schools in my lifetime.
Hidden talent: I can play the ukulele
Favorite Things to Do:  Anything artistic (painting, drawing, sculpting, creating), exercise/yoga, and of course, eating delicious food.
Favorite Things about URI: Diversity, access to so many resources, hundreds of clubs (something for EVERYONE to get involved in!), and the fact that it feels like home.

advice for incoming freshmen:

Try something new! Get involved! Don’t limit yourself. College is a whole new world filled with new faces and new opportunities– take them! Use this time to really grow and figure out who you are as a person and what you are truly passionate about. URI can be “home” for anyone, and you get to make it your own! This scholarship contest is your first chance to put yourself out there, so go for it – and Think Big!
