Chief Engineer
It is the overall responsibility of the Chief Engineer to establish a preventative maintenance plan and assign personnel in his department to the required maintenance tasks. In addition to their daily watch standing duties, the Chief Engineer will maintain electronic machinery history and parts records of all engineering systems.
The Chief Engineer will maintain vibration readings on all machinery, direct the Assistant Engineer, and Wiper in their duties. The Chief Engineer will also plan and coordinate all major repairs and maintenance for all engineering systems.
