Title: Proposal Writing: Navigating Federal Opportunities and Language
Abstract: Successful written communication, storytelling, and public engagement all go hand in hand when conveying the message of your science to a reader. This seminar will talk about some of the challenges and opportunities in searching for opportunities and writing proposals for funding. We will cover topics such as knowing your audience, reading guidelines from funding agencies, and searching for potential outlets for your work. Proposal writing is different from manuscript writing, and we will discuss the basics from common pitfalls of proposal writing to pathways to success.
