The series contains records related to events and issues regarding Rhode Island politics, economics, and social programs. Subjects include:
Chafee/Machtley forum: “Our Children’s Future: Measuring Up to the Challenge” (1990), concerning government programs designed to help limit the effects of cyclical poverty for teenage mothers, foster children, and under privileged families.
